The Chicago Graduate Student Association offers career development workshops and panels on alternative careers throughout the year in addition to addressing other social, academic, and advocacy issues.

The IBiS Student Organzition offers career development events and panels along with addressing other social, academic and advocacy issues related to IBiS students on the Evanston campus.

The Advanced Degree Consulting Alliance helps PhD students learn about and prepare for careers in consulting.

Postdoctoral Associations

The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) serves as a resource for support and enhancement of postdoctoral training.

The Northwestern University Postdoctoral Forum is a postdoc-organized group aimed at creating a community among NU postdocs across all disciplines and sharing postdoc-specific resources for career and personal development.

For postdocs in neuroscience, NUIN has a committee on postdoctoral affairs that runs career development seminars.

University Offices

Science in Society
Science in Society is a Northwestern University office dedicated to science outreach and public engagement. Their major initiatives include Science Club, an afterschool, mentor-based program for middle school youth, and HELIX, an online magazine that also serves to train students in science communications.

Searle Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning
The Searle Center encourages teaching practices grounded in pedagogical scholarship through programs and workshops that help students develop their teaching practice. In addition to the Teaching Certificate Program, the Searle Center also offers workshops for new TAs and offers graduate teaching fellowships for advanced students. The Searle Center is also home to the Center for Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning, which offers online discussions, webinars, and courses relating to teaching as well as mentored discussions of teaching.

The Graduate School Professional Development
TGS offers workshops on topics such as presentations, fellowship writing, and job searches for graduate students in all fields.

Innovation and New Ventures Office (INVO)
INVO offers a fellowship program for graduate students for exposure to intellectual property and the commercialization office. INVO also sponsors seminars and events in entrepreneurship and commercialization.

Northwestern Career Advancement
NCA offers support for graduate students in all aspects of career planning and job searching, including individual appointments for career assessments, career research, resume review, and interview preparation.
